La La La
Wordplay: I saw this documentary about crossword puzzles with Kim and I highly, highly recommend it. It’s really entertaining, deep, and very funny. Probably one of the best movies I’ve seen this year.
It’s the ultimate nerd/beardo movie. There’s a woman who was Crossword Tournament Champion who twirls a baton and uses a broken umbrella in the rain. They cover the people who make the puzzles, edit them, and enjoy them — including interviews with Bill Clintpwn and Jon Stewart. And the entire thing culminates with this year’s New York City Crossword Tournament with some startling twists and turns. Very fun.
One last thing I want to mention is the soundtrack features a really fantastic cover of the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place” by Shawn Colvin. I’ve heard this song hundreds of times but I’ve never heard it like this.

Deep fried waffles: Do they exist, or are they only in my dreams?
