Dog Rescues Dog
In this very important Internet video, a very brave pup runs across a busy freeway to rescue his injured friend.

This video is all you ever need for the rest of your life.
Superheroes

I’m working on this thing about superheroes, so I’m thinking about/doing a lot of research on superheroes.
I read somewhere that every man is either trying to A) Fix his father’s mistakes, or is B) Living up to his father’s expectations.
I think that Superman is type A: He is the product of his father’s society — an alien culture that blew itself up and left him an orphan. By trying to save humanity, he is trying to rectify the mistake that led to his creation.
On the other hand, Batman is type B: After his father’s senseless death, he inherited enormous wealth and privilege — but gave up that lifestyle to honor his father’s memory by fighting crime.
Of course, this is all very simplified thinking. In real terms, each man and each superhero is probably a mixture of both. Everyone is trying to find a purpose by doing a better job than the previous generation, and at the same time trying to live up to their expectations.
And to add to all this is the type C: Men who are just as useless on land as their fathers were.
Things I Need
I need to buy the following things from a store since I can’t make them out of twigs and objects found on the street:
I need new in-ear headphones because my current ones are on their last legs. My ears generate hydrochloric acid while my stomach generates ear wax. I’m told that this does not qualify as a superpower.
I’m going to Chicago later this month and I’ve heard that it’s too cold for Crocs, so I need to get cold weather boots. These will be great for when it rains since I’m kinda sick of having cold, wet feet. I want to get the kind of boots that I can wear after the coming financial apocalypse — the type with steel toes and iron spikes to match the Reaver-style mohawk I will be sporting at that time. They should be rated for -25 F weather and curb-stomping.
I need to find a new model of notebooks. This is almost a crisis at this point — I’m down to my last notebook.
Celestial Happy Face

Recession
So we’ve been in a recession for a year now. We’ve all pretty much known this — the physical evidence has been clear for a while.
There are now lots more new homeless people in my area, and the existing homeless people are in worse shape than they were before. More ragged, more hungry, more passed out in doorways.
Today I saw a man in a suit hunched over in sadness while eating a strawberry ice cream cone from Rite-Aid. He looked like he had just received very bad news.
In the news was the guy that was trampled to death at Walmart on Black Friday. What a way to go — being bum-rushed to death by people because they want to buy $26 vacuum cleaners.
I have no real observations about any of this except to note how tightly we tie money to happiness in America. That’s something that we should change.
Until that happens, here is a picture of a dog in a bee costume:

God Uses Emoticons, Also
Tonight, Jupiter, Venus, and the crescent moon will come together to form a celestial
.
I’m told that Australia will see a happy face. God frowns upon us.
